Maplewood Events Spotlight: “Just Like A Girl” Art ExhibitionLooking for meaningful Maplewood events this month? One of the most inspiring experiences in our community is happening right now at the 1978 Maplewood Arts Center. The “Just Like A Girl” Art Exhibition is a powerful Women’s History Month showcase featuring artwork from young local artists across Maplewood and South Orange. This unique exhibition highlights the creativity, strength, and voices of female and non-binary artists ages 10–20, using mediums like painting, photography, sculpture, and mixed media. Location: 1978 Maplewood Arts Center The exhibition challenges stereotypes and redefines what it means to create “like a girl”—turning it into a message of confidence, talent, and empowerment. Each piece tells a story, offering visitors a glimpse into the perspectives of the next generation of artists in our community. The opening reception on March 7 brought together families, artists, and community members to celebrate creativity and connection—something Maplewood events are known for. Whether you’re an art lover, a parent, or simply looking for things to do in Maplewood this weekend, this exhibition is a must-visit. 👉 Support local talent. Experience local creativity. Celebrate Maplewood.
