If Maplewood had a happiness meter this weekend, it would have exploded during Springfield Avenue MayFest! Families, friends, neighbors, and visitors came together for one of the community’s favorite yearly events—and let’s just say Springfield Avenue was the place to be.

The streets were filled with live music, delicious food, local vendors, games, and enough excitement to keep everyone smiling from ear to ear. Everywhere you looked, people were dancing, laughing, and enjoying the warm spring weather. If you blinked, you probably missed someone showing off their dance moves after hearing a favorite song!

The food? Wow. The smell alone could have convinced anyone to stay all day. From sweet treats and snacks to tasty meals and local favorites, visitors had plenty of choices. Some residents may have arrived saying, “I’m just grabbing one thing,” and somehow left carrying food, shopping bags, and wondering where their entire afternoon disappeared.

Families enjoyed activities for kids, neighbors bumped into old friends, and local businesses had a chance to shine. MayFest once again showed what makes Maplewood special: a community that loves to come together and celebrate.

And let’s be honest—community events always bring those funny moments too. There’s always that one person who says, “I’m only staying for 15 minutes,” and then three hours later they’re still there listening to music with a funnel cake in hand. We see you!
