She highlighted Tiersten's journey from tennis instructor to director since joining the department in 2019. Tiersten's presence on the Maplewood courts during spring, summer, and fall was marked by his open heart, kind spirit, and genuine love for the game. While many recognized him for his role as Ricky Thomas in the 1983 horror classic "Sleepaway Camp," in Maplewood, he was cherished as a colleague, coach, friend, and proud father to his 19-year-old son.
