On Sunday, May 17, 2026, Springfield Avenue in Maplewood transformed into a vibrant hub of activity for the annual MayFest street fair. The event spanned several blocks from Indiana Street to Rutgers Street, drawing thousands of visitors from across New Jersey.
The fair featured over a hundred local vendors offering a diverse array of goods, from handcrafted items to delectable foods. Attendees enjoyed live music performances throughout the day, with artists such as Alex Desrivieres Band, Manuela Zapata, and Lynette Sheard captivating the crowds. The music lineup, curated by Gregory Burrus Productions, showcased genres ranging from jazz and blues to Broadway hits.
Children delighted in various attractions, including bounce houses located near 1797 Springfield Avenue and a trackless train ride near 1925 Springfield Avenue. A highlight of the day was the appearance of the NY/NJ World Cup Fan Bus, stationed at the Yale Parking Lot, offering interactive activities and giveaways for soccer enthusiasts.
