Maplewood's own Grammy-nominated artist, SZA, is set to headline a significant event celebrating the 25th anniversary of the South Orange/Maplewood Community Coalition on Race.
This virtual gathering, titled "The Pursuit of Racial Equity & Integration: A 25-Year Journey in Maplewood and South Orange, New Jersey," will take place on Tuesday, March 29, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. ET.
The event aims to highlight the Coalition's enduring commitment to fostering a community where individuals of all races and backgrounds can fully engage in civic life.
Attendees can anticipate a special appearance by SZA, who will be joined by her mother, Audrey Rowe, the Coalition's Program Director.
The duo will share personal insights on the Coalition's mission and reflect on their experiences growing up and raising a family in the South Orange and Maplewood areas.
