Tonight, the South Orange and Maplewood communities come together to honor the remarkable contributions of local women at the annual Unsung Sheroes event.
This cherished tradition, held during Women's History Month, shines a spotlight on those who have made significant impacts in various fields.
The event takes place at the Orange Lawn Tennis Club in South Orange from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.
Attendees can look forward to a cocktail-style reception featuring delectable bites and a cash bar, followed by a program celebrating this year's distinguished honorees.
Among those being recognized are Leslie Kerner for Advocacy, Sumana Ghosh-Witherspoon for Arts, Shewaye Yassin for Business, Joanne Beckerich for Education, and Julia Friedrich for Youth Leadership.
Additionally, the event will honor the enduring legacy of Jolene Corry, whose contributions have left a lasting imprint on the community.
Organizers express deep gratitude to the sponsors who have made this celebration possible, including 5 Point Physical Therapy and Wellness LLC, Events by Emily, AIR® Aerial Fitness South Orange, and Lyn Your Face Makeup & Haircare Studio.
The overwhelming community response in selecting the honorees underscores the profound appreciation for the women who enrich the South Orange and Maplewood areas.
As one organizer noted, "This celebration is meaningful and should continue for many years to come."
For those interested in attending, the event is free, but registration is required due to limited space.
