The Maplewood Village Alliance is revitalizing the intersection of Maplewood Avenue and Baker Street with a new Baker Square community space.
Improvements feature fresh brick pavers and the removal of invasive plants, expanding the popular “ice cream benches” area.
Executive Director Cat Delett highlighted a vision for the square as a welcoming spot for neighborhood gatherings and events.
The Alliance allocated a substantial portion of its 2023 beautification budget to hardscape upgrades, signaling a deep commitment to the project’s future.
Community support is encouraged—donations will fund sustainable plantings and inviting new benches to foster connections.
Residents can even dedicate a bench with a bronze plaque in honor of someone special or a favorite organization.
