In Maplewood, liver transplant stories are inspiring hope and unity throughout the community.

Residents like Meredith Borrelli and Mike Logue, once facing urgent liver disease in New Jersey hospitals, are now celebrating new chapters after their transplants.

Their journeys highlight both the intense challenges and overwhelming gratitude that follow such life-altering surgeries.

Recently, both joined the Transplant Games of America, where transplant recipients from northern New Jersey gathered, showing that there’s abundant life after a liver transplant.

These spirited Games go beyond competition, providing a space for courage and connection among recipients and donors’ families.

Locally, hospitals and advocates are intensifying efforts to promote organ donation through education, support groups, and registration drives, aiming to shorten the long waiting list for those still in need.

Every new donor can mean a life saved—right here in Maplewood.
