Joke Of The Day

Why did the soccer ball bring a passport to Maplewoodstock?

Because it was headed to the International Pavilion! ⚽🌍

Maplewood is transforming how families access food, thanks to new partnerships and creative programming.

The Maplewood Health Department and Camp Prospect recently joined forces, boosting local food distribution and gifting hundreds of children’s books to families in need.

Social worker Dina Pressel visited Prospect Church’s summer camp, where children enjoyed stories about kindness amid laughter and learning.

Camp director Sara Knutsen emphasized their commitment to community outreach, weaving charity into camp activities for even the youngest kids.

Their work helps fuel the new Community Food Access + hub on Boyden Avenue, a welcoming and air-conditioned space where families choose food and select books for their children.

This approach replaces the former outdoor fridge, sparing residents long waits in the heat.

While direct food donation from locals is still a challenge, the hub’s sense of connection and support is stronger than ever.
